Lamplighter

I did not read Lamplighter till halfway through Christmas break.
Looking at the title and the title of the series, Monster Blood Tattoo, I was unimpressed. But I was quickly reminded of the truth of the phrase, "Never judge a book by its cover".

It was a very interesting book.
Cornish quickly draws the reader into his world of monsters with his strange drawings and writing style. Cornish even has the ability to make up words off the top of his head and incorporate them into his tale successfully.

I read it in one sitting of 14 hours, only stopping when I became hungry.
From beginning to end, it is an enthralling tale; I only wish that I could find a copy of Foundling to read so that I could understand some of the things that happen in lamplighter.
