This book was not the typical female teen uplift novel. There were no cliche plot lines, and according to the author it was completely nonfiction. This story is about a woman whose father is a pimp and because of it she has lots of man issues. Every good man she has, she can't keep because it doesn't feel right, and through the birth of her son, she discovers what it takes to love herself and a man properly.
